Frequently Asked Questions about Shrinking Thinking
Q: What is Shrinking Thinking all about?
A: Shrinking Thinking is a 6 month Membership Programme designed to help you become more aware of your thinking and emotions with regards to eating, diet and exercise, to make the necessary changes, and to assist you with your weight and exercise goals. We do this through a combination of day workshops, evening sessions and uniquely, 6 x individual one-to-one coaching sessions.
Q: Why is it a 6 month programme? Why so long?
A: Because “quick fix” weight programmes don’t get to the root of your weight problem. They help you to lose weight for a short period of time, but the real challenge is making your weight stay off over time. To do this you really do have to make long-term changes to your lifestyle – changes that require you to change your thinking, your emotions and your habits around food and exercise – and that takes a little time!
Q: What makes Shrinking Thinking so unique?
A: At Shrinking Thinking, we’re experts in managing emotions and thinking, and we’ve built our business around it. There are many, many diet classes & programmes around, and we’re not going to be “just another diet class” in your life! We’re approaching weight management from an entirely different angle – an angle that’s all about YOU, YOUR emotions, YOUR thinking. And not a diet sheet in sight!
Q: Do you have to be a certain weight before you can join the programme?
A: No, the programme is designed for all shapes & sizes – even for people who want to put weight on. The common theme is that all members have struggled with their weight over time, and want to make lasting changes now.
Q: Can people with eating disorders join?
A: Yes. Eating disorders are very often linked to emotional & thinking issues, so this programme will definitely be of help. In some cases, additional 1-1 coaching may be required to resolve deep-seated issues.
Q: Is the programme just for women?
A: No, men and women are both welcome!
Q: Do you provide diet sheets & recipes?
A: No. Shrinking Thinking is NOT a diet programme! If you like, you can combine the Shrinking Thinking Programme along with your preferred diet.
Q: How does the programme start?
A: We start by helping you to identify and understand the emotional relationship you’ve had with food over the years, and help you to get that relationship back under control by releasing your emotional connections and changing your thinking. Like any relationship, this requires some time and effort on your side – and you are worth it!
Q: Why do you introduce the tools to change eating behaviour only in the second half of the Programme?
A: Because it is important for you to identify and eliminate your destructive thinking & emotions around food, diet and exercise first. If you don’t, you’ll stay stuck in your yo-yo dieting cycle. (Of course, your behaviour will change during the first half of the programme as you gain awareness and understanding, but we wait ‘til the second half to really get to work!)
Q: Is there any homework in this programme?
A: Yes! We send you out pre-course homework in the month leading up to the programme start-date to get you started on your thinking & awareness. You may also be tasked with activities as part of your 1-1 coaching. Don’t worry though – there’s no great time commitment, and we make the tasks as fun as possible!
Q: Is there a minimum age for this programme?
A: Yes, 18 years old. If you have teenagers who need help, please talk to us!
Q: Can this programme run in a workplace or club?
A: Yes, we can tailor a Shrinking Thinking programme to the needs of your business or club. (Minimum attendee numbers required.) Talks are also available. Please contact us for more information!
Q: How much does the programme cost?
A: Please change to:
It’s just £60 per month, for the 6 month programme, meaning the programme costs just £360 – that’s a whopping 40% discount from the £600 list price of the programme.
Q: How do I book?

Q: Where are the workshops held?
